Couple | Kelsey and Joe

A road trip with a dear friend and her love, to a special destination.  A place of memories for Kelsey and bountiful with fresh air and green.  We journeyed to her grandma’s farm where wheeping willows, red barns, and golden sunset await.  It was magical.

I love how they dance …

Because I couldn’t resist with all of the neat, old tools 😀

They are a beautiful pair, with beautiful love ***

Crystal

If you know Crystal, you know the girl can sing.  So, it’s no surprise that she is in the top eight in a radio singing competition.  If you haven’t met Crystal yet, she has been a long time friend of mine and she has been given an awesome gift.  Back in our high school days, we even sang together in some competitions 😀  You can hear her beautiful voice here on her competition page, under Crystal Groscost.

Needless to say, when Crystal came to me to take some photos, I got excited, REALLY excited. Crystal has natural beauty and a sense of style that matches her spunky little personality.  So of course, she can make some pretty awesome photos.  The day of the shoot arrived and we met at Picasso’s Coffee Shop and this totally happened… love love love…

Remember that spunk I talked about?  Exhibit A…. lol

Then she turned it ON

FIERCE

She spotted the perfect chair in a salon we passed by…

I think there’s something magical about these bricks and Crystal’s  pretty skin and hair.

Nothing better than hitting up the railroad tracks at sunset….

Crystal, thank you so much for being a great friend through the years, and showing me that it’s a beautiful thing to chase a dream ***

Family | Drew+Brenda= Will & Nora

There are firsts for everything in life; first time riding a bike, first concert, first love, it’s endless.  This session was a first for me.  It’s the first time shooting an indoor session for my new friends.  Baby Nora was just a fresh 9 days old, and in February, the outdoors was a bit too harsh.  So we had fun in the home I’m sure Will and Nora will remember their whole lives.  Where they may experience some of their firsts.  I imagine Will helping his sister take her first steps, visits from the tooth fairy, and finding easter eggs together.  This is the start of a beautiful story.

Such a sweet girl…

I think they already know how to get out of trouble together, look at those grins lol

Such a handsome boy he is…

Drew and Brenda are high school sweethearts 🙂

Brenda shared a great photo idea, love it!

Thank you so much Drew, Brenda, Will, and Nora for an awesome afternoon ***

Personal | A Day of Service

The t-shirt reads :  “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?” – MLK

I headed out on the morning of MLK day for a day of service.  I packed my gear up and arrived at UMSL, knowing only that  I would be photographing some volunteers around the community.   That’s when I met my group, the wonderful young men from the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.  After a short trip we arrived at our place of service, the Centennial Christian Church.  Here’s a quick image of the boys shortly after we arrived.

We learned from the church secretary that donations had been growing for those impacted by the tornadoes in St. Louis City.  The church was graciously receiving and distributing several items for those in need, but the items grew and the need for helping hands became greater.  These boys, without hesitation, jumped right in to organize the many cans of food, clothing items, and toys.  I lucked out, I think I got the easy part, taking photos of their hard work in action.  Here’s some moments from the day…

A great day of fellowship shared between friends, that’s what MLK Day is about 🙂

As we gathered together to head back to the UMSL campus, we ended our day at the church as we began, with prayer.  This time, I stood back, I’m so glad I did.

Crystal and Trandon

Well this is the first blog post EVER for me and my photos so it is sooo very cool that it is of my long time friend Crystal and her husband, Trandon.  Crystal and I have many great memories we find ourselves laughing at, whether it’s the cruise we took in choir together (way back in high school days) or any of the adventures we’ve taken downtown, it’s always a good time.

As we talked more about their session, I got pretty excited when they told me their dog Chloe would be included.  I have been waiting for this chance to come along, and sure enough, Chloe did not disappoint.  Crystal and Trandon, thanks for braving the cold afternoon and letting me take your holiday photos.  Here’s to many more fun times ahead of us ***
